NEP Connect Celebrates 2019 Milestones

NEP Connect Celebrates 2019 Milestones

NEP Connect (formerly SIS LIVE), a broadcast connectivity provider, is capping off a successful year with the news that it fibred close to 100 new venues over the course of 2019. This brings the reach of its Anylive Fibre Network up to 240 venues, encompassing leading sports venues allowing rights holders to quickly send their content to millions of people around the world.

NEP Connect used the Anylive network and satellite communications to support a host of high-profile women’s events throughout 2019, including the women’s global football championship held in Paris earlier in the year; the women’s England-Australia cricket series; Liverpool’s record-breaking global netball tournament and more. It also won the contract to provide satellite capacity for all matches in the DELO Women’s EHF Champions League up until the end of the current season.

Other high-profile projects this year included: providing fibre network broadcast HD connectivity services for Guinness PRO14 Rugby coverage; centralised production (a big growth area for the business moving forward) for Dancing on Ice; and bespoke production solutions and fibre connectivity to ITV Studios Entertainment for the year's biggest reality show, Love Island. It also celebrated a decade of broadcasting the Tour de France with Vsquared for ITV4.

The company also celebrated 30 years of providing critical connectivity solutions to the industry, with its anniversary back in November.

“With some key new appointments towards the end of the year too — we welcomed Chris Ainger as Head of Technical Sales and Jeff Hallman as Global Network Solutions Architect — we are poised to build further on the impressive growth we have already seen in 2019 throughout 2020,” comments David Meynell, Managing Director, NEP Connect. “We will continue to provide innovative fibre and satellite connectivity solutions to the industry and are looking forward to expanding our Anylive network into more international venues and client facilities as the forthcoming year progresses.”

NEP Connect, an NEP Broadcast Services Company, has been delivering critical media content since 1989. The company’s rapidly growing international fibre network, Anylive, connects over 240+ locations including broadcasters, major switching centres, channel aggregators, sports and entertainment venues.  NEP Connect operates two Network Operation Centres located in the UK, co-located with NEP Connect teleports, which supply extensive satellite facilities to complete the connectivity offering.  The company provides a full range of broadcast services from UHD to low bit rate streaming with data and audio transmission services also available.  This comprehensive fibre and satellite infrastructure forms a cohesive and robust portfolio, broadcasting over 200 hours of live transmissions worldwide every day supporting multiple contracted and occasional use events.
