NewTek´s solutions compatible with Youtube

The production systems TriCaster and 3Play from US-company NewTek can now be used for live streaming on Youtube, the video platform of Google. Sports entities have the possibilities of enhancing production quality of their shows at low prices, whether they are being streamed or broadcast over IP.

According to a press release, YouTube is at the forefront of driving the technologies required to live stream content to an array of devices from smart TV’s to smartphones. A convergence of technologies, economics, and easy-to-use production gear is making it possible for every sport imaginable to reach audiences, extend their brands and generate revenue online. "I believe sports is the next big, untapped video frontier on the Internet", says Perry Tobin, technology manager for YouTube Sports.

To enhance the production quality of their shows on Google´s video platform, sports entities can now use production systems TriCaster (photo) and 3Play from US-company NewTek. "The Internet has made it where you no longer need a huge antenna and an FCC license", Andrew Cross, chief technology officer of NewTek, states. For example, TriCaster and 3Play include instant replays or virtual sets shot on a small green screen. "In the past, cost has been prohibitive," Perry Tobin comments. "Fortunately, products like TriCaster and 3Play have lowered the barrier of entry into this space." (3/14)
