openGear Live Event Showcases oGx-Compatible Solutions

All eight openGear Leader Partners will be showcasing openGear-compatible products at openGear Live, according to Ross Video, the company behind the open-architecture, modular frame system. The virtual event is scheduled for 29 September 2020, starting at 7 pm Central European Time (CET) or 1 pm Eastern Time (ET).

It will include product demos, presentations, and conversations about applications incorporating solutions from AJA Video Systems, Blackmagic Design, Cobalt Digital, Decimator Design, MultiDyne, Ross Video, Sencore, and VITEC. Attendees will learn about these solutions and how the openGear platform supports deployment of best-of-breed technologies via the DashBoard common control and monitoring ecosystem.

“While many vendors are transitioning to COTS solutions and the cloud, broadcasters and other media companies still need solutions that simply don’t fit into COTS equipment,” said Bill Rounopoulos, Business Development Manager, OEM & Partnerships for Ross Video. “For this reason, the openGear platform — with the flexibility and freedom it enables — is more critical than ever. Thanks to the work of openGear Leader Partners in addressing today’s technical requirements, broadcasters can implement the processing capabilities they need today and maintain agility in embracing future formats and technologies. We look forward to showcasing their solutions during openGear Live.”

Adopted by dozens of manufacturers offering hundreds of signal processing solutions, the openGear platform supports a wide range of modular infrastructure solutions including distribution, conversion, branding, audio, data, fiber, timing, and more in one compact, economical frame. Because the platform is architected to meet the most complex processing demands of evolving IP and UHD applications, users can choose from a multitude of signal types and formats from analog to UHD to IP.

Available free of charge, DashBoard software provides one unified control system across openGear products from all manufacturers. This allows for easy setup, monitoring, alarms, and management. The CustomPanel panel builder within DashBoard makes it easy to create custom workflows across multiple products to suit specific workflow requirements.

openGear Live & Online registration is open to all who are interested and can be accessed on the openGear.tv website at https://www.opengear.tv/live-online/.
