Telemetrics RCCP received two awards at NAB

The new RCCP-2A Robotic Camera Control Panel from Telemetrics, Inc., a producer of camera robotics and control products, received the “Product of the Year Award” from the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and the “Best Of Show” award from TV Technology magazine at NAB Show 2019.

As a winner in the category of “Best New Cameras, Camera Support and Accessories Technology” of the inaugural 2019 NAB Show Product of the Year Awards, the RCCP-2A was recognized as one of the most significant and promising new products and technologies showcased by exhibitors at the 2019 NAB Show. NAB Show Product of the Year Award Winners were selected by a panel of industry experts in 16 categories and announced at an awards ceremony and cocktail reception at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort on April 10.

“Nominees like Telemetrics are revolutionizing the way people experience media and entertainment,”said NAB Executive Vice President of Conventions and Business Operations Chris Brown. “The 2019 NAB Show Product of the Year Awards highlight the best of what’s new at the premier launchpad for breakthroughs at the intersection of media, entertainment and technology.”

The Future “Best of Show” awards were presented by TV Technology magazine on the show floor and judged by a panel of industry experts on the criteria of innovation, feature set, cost efficiency and performance in serving the industry.

“With new user-configurable TeleKeys, additional hardware controls, and Studio View, the new RCCP-2A camera control panel gives a single operator the power to do more, and a lot faster,” said Michael Cuomo, Vice President of Telemetrics. “We’re honored to be recognized with two awards as we strive to make the most feature rich and intuitive control systems on the market. While our systems deliver powerful capabilities, they are accessible to a broad range of operators with varying skill levels.”

Telemetrics’ new RCCP-2A control panel brings user configuration and operator ease of use to a whole new level. The RCCP-2A takes all the field-proven experience of its predecessor RCCP-1A panel, including built-in camera painting and shading controls, and adds more intelligence and a fully customizable user interface with more features, including a series of new TeleKeys™ that automatically adapt to what the user is doing in real time.

The RCCP-2A’s illuminated dynamic graphical TeleKeys automatically change to show options relevant to the operator’s task at hand. It’s fully customizable dials, levers, and knobs make it easier to operate robotic cameras, elevating columns, and OmniGlide™ Robotic Roving Platform (RRP-1) pedestals. Additionally, six TeleKeys on the top row of the main button panel automatically present user determined commonly used functions related to the current operation. Another separate group of Hot TeleKeys provide fast access to system parameters for on-the-fly changes and individualized program settings. The RCCP-2A can also easily store and recall specific user preferences to help manage production workflows and streamline camera control operations.

While its predecessor RCCP-1A includes a single joystick, the RCCP-2A now features two fully configurable joysticks that allow control of the PT heads and camera framing and the camera’s movement along a track system or, if used with the Telemetrics OmniGlide Roving Platform (RRP-1), control its XY plane as well as the camera’s elevation on a pedestal (such as the Telemetrics Televator™ elevating pedestal). The second joystick also accommodates left- and right-handed operators.

The RCCP-2A is fully backwards compatible with the RCCP-1A, so operators can use the new RCCP-2A panel next to an existing RCCP-1A and they will work together seamlessly. (5/19)
